I hope everyone is having a wonderful Holiday Season so far. (I can't believe Christmas is only 11 days away!) ...and did I mention my daughter is getting married 3 days after Christmas?
It all began... at college. They started dating during Winter Semester and were a "facebook official" couple by spring. There were daily - long - conversations all through the summer as well as a couple of trips to meet parents. Then, just before they returned to school in the fall, Ryan planned a romantic proposal in view of old faithful at Yellowstone National Park. Paije said, "yes!" and they set their wedding date for December 28.
So, this season, Kevin and I have been Christmas and wedding planning. It has been exciting, a little overwhelming, and at moments a little frustrating; but, then I remind myself... all of the truly important things are taken care of. The rest is all just fun -
I've had a lot of fun designing the wedding announcements and ordering all of the reception supplies. Kevin learned how to make fresh flower bouquets for the bridesmaids (yes, seriously!) I am learning to make pretty wedding shaped sugar cookies. We've turned our kitchen into a cookie and hot cocoa testing facility. (We plan to have gourmet hot cocoa and cookies for dessert at the reception.)
Between all of the errands, we are praying for good weather and expressing our gratitude for the many wonderful friends who have offered to help us with the festivities. (I am so grateful for all of them!)
Whatever you are celebrating this holiday season, I hope you, and those you love, are well, happy, and enjoying each day!
