You don't always have to use a picture to use the grid paper. I decided to make a class "fingerprint" card using the MOSAIC MOMENTS 6"x6" grid paper. I went to the preschool and got a fingerprint of each of the children on pastel colored 1"x1" squares. After I added hair and tiny "googly" eyes they were ready to be placed on the outside of the card as the border.
To attach the card together, I made two 2" strips to attach on the top and bottom first square of the grid. Put both pieces of 6"x6" grid paper together and fastened it together with the strips. I then added the "2009" STRIPLET between the strips and the class title made on my computer and a larger fingerprint square of the teacher for the middle.
With the outside done, the inside was pretty simplistic. I cut a large square to go the inside, added a smaller square with a decorative edge and stamped words around an even smaller square inside the . I did that square because it can come off and the parents in the class can sign it without disturbing the "eyes" on the front page, then you can reattach it when everyone is done writing on it.(One idea is to use the square as "pocket" and put a gift card inside it.) On the opposite side add a class picture, I think it completes the card and ties it into the front of the card. Add a row of 1" squares on the top and bottom. I added my own computer made "Thanks for the Memories" on vellum and attached it with brads. Very simple and very fun--definitely a class card that is unique and memorable.
