Have you been to the Disney Parks and collected the pins? Maybe you collect pins from many different vacation spots? This project is a wonderful way to show your collection off to everyone who comes into your home.
This project is really quick and simple with Mosaic Moments™ grid paper. You will love how simple it is and how great it looks!
Here is what you need for your Pin Board:
- Mosaic Moments grid paper (any size and color you would like)
- A 2.125 punch (highly recommend getting this if you do not have one yet)
- Re-positional tape
- A Shadow Box Frame that will fit your grid paper size (you can find this at your local craft store or at Ikea)
- If you are not using a frame you will need cardboard, mat board, or foam core
- Embellishments, photos, and your pins of course!
For this project I decided to create a pin board for my sister's pins. She has collected pins of Aurora from Sleeping Beauty and they have just been collecting dust on a shelf. It's about time she have a board made!
Here is a few of the pins. Aren't they adorable?
To begin your project choose a color scheme you would like to use. If you are creating a Disney pin board you may want to use the colors White, Red, and Black. Since the pins are based on Aurora I decided to use the colors pink, teal and gray. I used gray so the pin board would be more appropriate for a teenager. The colors pink and teal are inspired by Aurora's dress at the end of the film when the fairies are fighting over what color it should be.
Next, you will need to use either 2.125 Paper Tiles™ or punch (or cut) out Card-stock/pattern paper to fill up your grid paper. You will need a total of 25 squares for a 12x12 page. You can also punch out photos to this size if you would like to use them. Easy right?
Now you just need to use your tape to glue all the squares to your paper. You can add embellishments, like stickers, rub ons, ribbon etc. onto your board. I added four Medium Pretty Pink Magical Cornerstones in each corner. Tip: plan out where each element of your page will go before adding your pins. My pins will be going where the empty gray square boxes are. Here is my board (before adding the pins):
Supplies for This page: Besides the Cornerstones, I used Mosaic Moments™ 12x12 Granite grid paper, and pattern paper from Echo Parks™ "This & That Graceful", and pattern paper from Basicgrey™.
Afterwards, you will need to use adhesive (you may want to use permanent instead of re-positional) on your page onto a piece of cardboard, mat board, or foam core. If you have a frame you can use the back of it (if you can stick pins into it). I was able to stick my pins on the cardboard back of my frame.
Once you have your page on your board, stick your pins all the way through the cardboard. Just be careful to not poke yourself :)
When your board is finished you can place your pins in a frame. I
recommend using a shadow box since the pins might be too thick for a
regular frame. Here is my final Pin Board:
