Fast and Fabulous Mix and Match

 

My husband and I spent last Thanksgiving Day up in the mountains of Hakone Japan at a wonderful Open Air Museum. The weather was just gorgeous and the fall colors were in full splendor.

I’m running a bit behind on getting my photos scrapped so when I received this Mosaic Moments Christmas Kit in the mail, I knew it contained just the elements I needed to bring the photos from this outing to life.

Wow- the ease of working with a Mosaic Moments Page Kit is having everything laid out for you! But just because it is all packaged together does not mean that you have to stick to what is in that package.

I loved the plums and greens of this Christmas kit (kit #65562), and knew they would be perfect for my fall photos with just a bit of a tweaking. 

The Black Grid Paper is one my favorites, so I switched the lighter green Grid Paper that came in the kit for the black. I love the way the plum and green mats make my photos pop against that black background.

I easily followed the LO pictured on the kit packaging to place my photos and blocks on the Grid Paper. The photo mats were already sized just perfectly for my prints.

To continue the fall theme, I replaced the snowflake Cornerstones that came in the kit with some leaf Cornerstones. I backed them in white and enhanced them with some stickles.

Instead of using the enclosed journaling tag, I placed my title directly on the matting using some letter stickers. To balance out the page, my journaling was handwritten on the facing page. As a final touch, I added some foil leaf stickers across the page.

I love the colors and placement of the elements that this kit provided. This project went together so fast and the result is just fabulous! And now I have some left over Grid Paper and elements that I can use on my next project.

NEW - "Camera Shy" Kit

 

What scrapbooker/family photographer doesn't love a kit that is all about the photos?

The newest kit "Camera Shy" debuting this month is just that.  It is loaded with spots for photos, has a cool lens style focal mat and my personal favorite - FILMSTRIPS. 

They make a great single subject border or could be filled with 12 little random spots of fun. You choose.

Close-up left page. Don't  you love that leaf with an "eye hole" we found on the sidewalk? Had to have some fun with that. I think my sister looks like a lion in that shot.

The circular mat on this page was perfect for this window reflection shot. I take reflection shots frequently because I get to be in the photo as well as my hard working little camera.  If you look closely you can see a display case at the bottom of this photo - gelato - yum!

 

This spot on the left hand side of the spread was just screaming for some fun embellies. I inked some naked chipboard, added some Prima flowers and a brad. 

 

When I saw these colorful bricks underfoot I knew that I had to take a photo.  All that great color and texture was going to be a great background for my title which I created in Photoshop Elements.  Love it!

Seaside Kit

 

Tami has introduced a new Page Kit - Seaside. Naturally, this Florida girl was all over that!

 

I had photos that I had just taken of a special day with a friend at the beach that are very meaningful to me.  Seemed like the perfect opportunity.

Here is my take on the kit:

I love sea glass and these colors remind me of that. Starting with that in mind, I ran for my ink bucket and pulled out 2 Color Box Chalk Inks in Prussian Blue and Blue Iris and started there.

I also knew that the kit colors were perfect for a new collection in my stash - K&Co.'s Blue Awning.  

Armed with ink and the collection, I was ready to document this beach day.

I inked all the paper tiles except for the photo mats.

 

I even added ink to the cornerstones and backgrounds. 

 

I set the poem block aside to use on another project and created a journaling block in Word.  Added chipboard buttons and more of the Blue Awning paper.
