What was I thinkin?

Saturday I got up bright and early - not my usual routine for a Saturday but, I was motivated. On Friday two large (45 gallon) Kwanzan Cherry trees were delivered to my home and they needed planting. We actually started the job on Friday evening. The dirt was VERY hard.

Plan A: (my idea) Use a tiller to loosen up the dirt - this plan met with very little success.
Plan B: (my idea) soak the area with water to soften the dirt.  The water just sat there making a small pond.
By morning the water had finally soaked in - or so I thought. It must have just run off somewhere because under a very thin layer of mud the dirt was dry and still just as hard as ever!
Plan C: (Kevin's idea) buy a pick to chisel the dirt out of the ground. The pick worked! It made me tired just watching Kevin swing that thing around again and again; but, an hour or two later we were ready to place our trees in the ground.

Our tree planting task was finished just in time to get cleaned up and drive to Richmond for a class at Memories Galore. We had the pleasure of meeting  a great group of ladies - including  Cari Jo, a lovely  Memories Galore employee.

Kevin and I had such a great time instructing and then watching the ladies create some fabulous pages.

Debbie was the first to finish her  mosaic page created from photos with a poolside view.

No two pages were the same. The ladies brought pictures of subjects ranging from Cindy's backyard project
to Tammy's fairground amusements.

Thanks Debbie, Tammy, and Cindy - for letting me share your pages and to everyone for letting me take pictures. (I wish I had time to post them all) They are all FABULOUS!

Thanks Memories Galore for hosting the class and thanks to all the ladies who came.

Amaze Yourself! - Memories Galore - VA

• photos (6-10 - different photos of the same subject)
• Herma Dotto - removable adhesive
• craft knife
• metal ruler with cork backing

We will begin class with a discussion on technique, take time for a little hands on practice, and then, we will dive into the fast and fabulous world of designing with grid paper!

You may be surprised how far you can go. At the end of this class, you are going to amaze yourself!

New Jersey - WOW!

Back in Fall 2000 Wish in the Wind, LLC  went to the first Memories Expo convention in New Jersey. Does anyone remember these?

I was so nervous - not knowing what to expect or what the response would be.

Short Story: The show was a huge success and I have had a warm spot in my heart for New Jersey and the "crazy roads" there ever since.

The next year we returned to the expo with the very first batch of Mosaic Moments Grid Paper and self-healing cutting mats. We only had four colors of grid paper back then - black, white, cactus, and squash. We were completely overwhelmed with the response at the show. We sold out of paper the first day, more arrived that night and even though we thought we had plenty we sold out again the next day. You would think we learned from that wouldn't you?

This past weekend (almost 7 years later) we were in New Jersey again. I hoped to have photos to share of the great gals (and guys) at the New Jersey Memories Expo; but, I didn't dare stop to get the camera out!

I want to thank all those who came for their patience - waiting in long lines. And, to those who hoped to skip the lines only to discover we had run out of product when they returned, please accept our thanks for your patience - waiting for your orders to be shipped. They will be out of our hands and into yours very soon!

It is wonderful to receive such an overwhelmingly positive response. I am deeply appreciative for all the wonderful comments made to Kevin and I.

I can't wait to see you all again next year! We have learned - next time we will bring a lot more stuff!

Two

Aren't modern two year olds amazing! Yes, they get into trouble just like they always have. They throw tantrums when they don't get what they want. They can be a challenge to feed and to dress; But, they are so techno-smart!

I caught Cole at my computer playing with the photo booth program. He had taken this, along with several other pictures, of himself. He figured out how to do it after watching my daughter, Alexis.

A friend told me that her four year old got on her computer and figured out how to order his own movies on their NetFlix account! Here comes Scooby-Doo in the mail ... Surprise!
