If you are looking for...confessions
of Real New York City Housewives, you have come to the wrong place. But, doesn't everyone have some sort of confession to make?
You might say our family leads a not quite typical lifestyle. Educating consumers and promoting Mosaic Moments nationwide requires a lot of travel time. However, when we are home, I try to maintain a balance between Kevin, my kids, their education, designing & business tasks, church activities, service projects, and household chores. People often say to me, "I don't know how you do it all?!" I have a simple confession... "I Don't!"
I have to confess that I let a lot of things go unattended. Most of them are in the "chores" category. Why do chores today when they will still be there tomorrow?
- It is not unusual for us to eat cold cereal for dinner 2-3 days a week. My 4 year old is pretty good at feeding himself. (He can find the bread loaf on the counter and he often brings me a yogurt to open for him.) When my 11 year old gets hungry she eats tuna on crackers or makes Kraft Mac and Cheese.
- When I am home I often get up early, before anyone else, and go straight to my computer to take advantage of the time to design without interruption. If I am in a flow I may not move for the rest of the day. I try to get a shower at least every other day; but, when I am "in the creative zone" 3 days can go by with my hair just pulled back in a scrunchies. (Don't worry I shower every morning on convention/class days.)
- My kids think pajamas are part of their daytime wardrobe. May be that is because they don't necessarily change into pj's before bed. I think Cole recently wore the same clothes for 48 hours straight.
- I don't dust behind my computer until the dust bunnies are as big as the swiffer.
- I once found an old plum (I think) in the crevice of my couch.
- Lets just not talk about the toilets, okay?
What's your confession?
Typography Note: I chose "Cracked" as the font for the word confessions. I thought it was a fun way to visually enhance the word, playing on the idea of getting someone to "crack" and offer a confession. A similar font was used for the title of a recent Oscar winning movie (Slumdog millionaire.) It looks like PC users can get a free version of "Cracked" here: 29 cool fonts to download
